Environmentally Friendly Facilities

Here at the Foxholes we try to encourage nature to thrive by being as eco-friendly as possible. There's the big things like our solar heated shower block with harvested rain water for flushing the toilets but also the little things too, like all our taps are push buttons to avoid waste.

Toilet and Shower Block

We have a large modern heated, solar powered shower and toilet block. Our toilets are flushed using a combination of harvested rain water and water from an old well.
In addition to the main shower block we have three wet-rooms including an accessible room. Showers are 50p coin operated.

Common room and Washing-up Facilities

The common room houses our five solar heated washing up sinks and a communal Fridge and Freezer for the necessities, like keeping your beer cool!

You will also find a book swap, children’s games and entertainment and information on local events, restaurants and businesses.

The Common room has electric sockets.

Encouraging wildlife

Foxholes campsite is part of Higher level Stewardship. Which means that we follow strict farming rules that protects habitat for the benefit of the environment and wildlife. We have meadows and coppices in our camping fields for ground nesting birds and wide hedgerows. In addition, no pesticides are used on the site.

Since we have opened the campsite we have planted over 2500 native trees and we are still planting! We know we’re doing a good job because of our resident Red Kites, Barn and Tawney Owl.

You will also notice on site that we have minimum lighting on site to prevent light pollution. Which means that we have spectacular night skies for star and bat gazing!

Bins and Recycling

Foxholes Campsite has a large recycling point for Plastics, Tins, Cardboard, Glass, Tetra Packs, and Paper. We spend a lot of time going through people’s rubbish, so we encourage you to recycle so we don’t have to!

Foxholes Campsite does not have any additional charges for gazebos or extra tents etc. If your airbed/gazebo/tent breaks please take it home to dispose of.
